FATHER'S DAY

It’s been some time since I wrote here, and certainly some time since I’ve “blogged,” per se. That’s fine, though, because blogging is perhaps the most narcissistic thing on the internet aside from Instagram.

Today is Father’s Day, in the USA. I’m a father in Australia, from the USA.

This is the first Father’s Day upon which I no longer have a father myself. This is a very strange sensation.

Last year, I searched high and low and made great effort to make sure my Dad had a copy of the complete series of DEADWOOD, which I was sure he’d love, for Father’s Day. He was, it seemed, nonplussed by the show.

Because of that, and also because he passed away, I have elected this year not to send any gift at all.

Take that, Dad.

I miss you, and I love you.
